So, here we go again. Another round of "free money" rumors swirling around the internet like a toilet that won't flush. This time it's stimulus checks in November 2025. Seriously?
The IRS had to come out and say, AGAIN, that there are no new stimulus checks coming. No automatic relief payments. Nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada.
Deja Vu All Over Again
It's like we're stuck in some kind of financial Groundhog Day. Remember the early days of the pandemic? Everyone was scrambling for toilet paper and stimulus checks. Now, years later, we're still dealing with the fallout of that mess – inflation, supply chain nightmares, and apparently, an endless supply of gullible people who fall for the same old scams.
The IRS is practically begging people to ignore these online posts promising free money. They're phishing attempts, people! They want your bank account details, your Social Security number... everything. And let's be real, the IRS never initiates contact via email or text asking for that kind of information. If you get one of those, just delete it. Or better yet, forward it to the IRS so they can track down these scammers. Though I doubt they'll even bother; they're probably swamped with this crap 24/7.
Trump's Tariff Fantasy...and Your Bank Account
The confusion, apparently, stems from a few different sources. There's the usual viral social media nonsense, of course. But also, there's this "tariff dividend" plan that Donald Trump floated on Truth Social. The idea was to use tariff revenue to send payments of, get this, at least $2,000 per person. $2,000 Trump stimulus check in November 2025? IRS update and what you need to know | Hindustan Times has more information on the proposed plan and the IRS's response.
Okay, let's unpack this for a second. Trump thinks he can fund a massive stimulus program with tariff revenue? Has he ever taken an economics class? Tariffs are taxes, plain and simple. And they're usually paid by consumers, not foreign countries. So basically, he's proposing to tax the American people and then give some of that money back to them as a "dividend." Genius!

It's like robbing Peter to pay... well, Peter. But with extra steps and a healthy dose of political theater.
I mean, gimme a break.
And people actually believe this stuff? Seriously? Are we really this desperate for a handout? I know times are tough, but come on. There's a difference between hoping for a little help and falling for a blatant scam. Maybe I'm the crazy one here, offcourse.
So, What Now?
The IRS says to file your tax returns and keep your information up to date. That way, if a legitimate program does launch, you'll be eligible. But let's be honest, how likely is that? Congress can't even agree on what day it is, let alone pass meaningful legislation to help the American people.
It's all just noise. Political posturing. Empty promises. And a whole lot of wasted time and energy.
I'm starting to think the only stimulus we're ever going to get is the kind that comes from a bottle of whiskey.
